So where do I start on efficiency. I guess we first have to decide what context we are talking about. Production Efficiency, Administrative Efficiency, Thermal Efficiency, Organizational Efficiency. The list goes on. In each case however, efficiency is most often used as a means of gauging value delivered or in many cases not delivered for the resources expended.
It seems these days there is no shortage of attention on the topic of getting better. Whether it’s the yearly reflection on personal or bottom line performance at work, a new year’s resolution to drop a few pounds, or a sobering look at your own financial health following the annual holiday spend. And while the need is stronger than ever, it baffles the mind why so many just don’t get off the dime.
