With more than 25 years of experience leading business strategy, operations, and training development teams, she has directed projects with RWD clients for 15 years. She works to design leading-edge learning solutions that align with clients’ business requirements and maximize the return on investment.

Start by asking one simple question. In almost every case of recent innovation, our efforts started with someone asking, “What if…” The conversation begins with a scenario, describing the learner or performer and envisioning how that person might retrieve information for a specific purpose.

One example began with a client looking at his mobile device saying, “What if one of our sales representatives needed to understand more about the customer he was going to visit? He is sitting in his car and he has an iPad or other mobile device. But he needs to review what products the client already has and what training or manuals that client might be interested in buying. Wouldn’t it be great if he could type in a few key words or phrases about the equipment and pain points the client had expressed, and a search engine could retrieve and offer suggestions?” The Multimedia Solutions team has expanded our community discussions to include RWD’s Technology Integration team, and now we’re working on a prototype for just this scenario.

There is no doubt that times are changing, and I often feel the challenge of trying to keep pace enough to be able to “hop on the train,” afraid I might miss it. As I read articles, white papers, blogs and other publications from colleagues in the training and performance support industry, I am somewhat reassured that I’m not alone. I also feel fortunate to work with a diverse team that brings energy and enthusiasm for new approaches and new technologies, while maintaining allegiance to learner needs and instructional design tenets and best practices.
