Start by asking one simple question. In almost every case of recent innovation, our efforts started with someone asking, “What if…” The conversation begins with a scenario, describing the learner or performer and envisioning how that person might retrieve information for a specific purpose.
One example began with a client looking at his mobile device saying, “What if one of our sales representatives needed to understand more about the customer he was going to visit? He is sitting in his car and he has an iPad or other mobile device. But he needs to review what products the client already has and what training or manuals that client might be interested in buying. Wouldn’t it be great if he could type in a few key words or phrases about the equipment and pain points the client had expressed, and a search engine could retrieve and offer suggestions?” The Multimedia Solutions team has expanded our community discussions to include RWD’s Technology Integration team, and now we’re working on a prototype for just this scenario.
